How Small Clinic Advantage P&O Capitalizes on Galileo to Save Time and Money

Keeping expenses low and maximizing efficiency are key when it comes to running a successful small business. As a smaller clinic themselves, Advantage Prosthetics & Orthotics in Pikesville MD had been searching for a solution to save them time and money for quite awhile.

According to Rishona Lebovits, CP, at Advantage, they hadn’t found that solution until adopting the Galileo program just over a year ago. “I don’t see how it wouldn’t save anyone money,” she remarked. “Cutting out the 2-day shipping costs alone has made it worthwhile.”

Printing their check sockets in-office has also saved the team valuable time. For Rishona, the best part of being a prosthetist is seeing highly motivated patients stand up for the first time. Now, patients get that opportunity even sooner with the reduced turnaround times Galileo provides. “I’ll see a patient and have them standing on their socket the next week,” she exclaimed.

“Not much has changed with our process, except that we do things much faster now,” Rishona said of adopting Galileo. The Advantage team starts by scanning a plaster positive or patient limb with their own iPhone. “I love that we didn’t have to buy some expensive scanner to get started,” Rishona said.

After submitting the scan and order form, a Galileo design tech begins modifying the order to Rishona’s specifications. “They follow my directions really well and are very receptive to all my feedback,” she recounted of her experience with the design team.

Rishona is fully on board with Galileo, praising its impact on both finances and efficiency. “Galileo works perfectly for our business model. We have a small office, low overhead, and it’s something we can do in-house,” she explained.

Additionally, Rishona is enthusiastic about the future opportunities Galileo may bring. “I love that they’re always coming up with new things,” she said, describing all the current products she’s excited to print on the machine, such as preparatory sockets, and retrofitted flex inners.

When Advantage first adopted the program, Rishona admits it felt different, but she has since embraced the change. “The fit of the sockets have been great. And the customer service really is awesome; they are very available.”

Rishona encourages potential users to consider Galileo, saying, “Definitely check it out. It really is worth at least a trial period.” Advantage has printed over 200 sockets since starting with the Galileo program in April 2023, and they have saved immeasurable time and money along the way.
