Core Values

The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness.

Integrity sits on the thumb of the Protosthetics logo. The name “thumb” comes from the word “tum” meaning swollen. Integrity is good summary word to remind us of our ND ties, to stay humble, and to work honestly.

The use of the imagination or original ideas.

Creativity sits on the index finger. Index comes from the Latin word “indico” meaning to point out. Creativity points us in the forward direction and sets us apart from our competitors.

The introduction of something new and different.

Innovation sits on the middle finger. Middle finger has a very literally meaning (it is the middle of all our fingers). We like to think of this as innovating from the inside out. As we grow as individuals, we bring new and different ideas to the company, allowing Protosthetics to continue to innovate and disrupt an industry like o and p. This puts each of us in the middle of the success of our company overall.

The action of working with someone to produce or create something.

Collaboration sits on the ring finger. The ring finger gets its name because a vein runs from that finger to your heart (called the lovers vein) and is why you wear a wedding ring on that finger. This made us think of relationships and teamwork, which brought us to the term collaboration. Our sales and engineer teams work side by side every day and success wouldn’t be possible for our company without collaboration between the two.

The ability to find quick and clever ways to overcome difficulties.

Resourcefulness sits on the pinky finger. Pinky comes from the Dutch word “pink” which means small one. Resourcefulness is stressed a lot here at Protosthetics. This means using our resources here in the office when solving challenges presented. We don’t always have the luxuries that large companies have. It also means the economic side of additive manufacturing – we are a small company making an economic difference using additive manufacturing versus traditional manufacturing.
